id put down the lid as normal to go and get something, came back and the screen stayd black??!!
I noticed the power had come out so i put that in but the screen wouldnt switch on and now i switch it on and i hear it make a noise but a quiet one but no screen!!
it makes a usual start u noise for about 5 seconds
ive tried to log in "blind" but no noise
the power button still says its on
im not very good with computers but any advice is welcome
thanks!!
+Here is a trick you might try that sometimes works: Remove the power adapter and remove the battery. Hold down the power button for 15 seconds. Put the battery back in and reinsert the AC power and then try to turn it on. That’s worked in the past with some of the older model Toshiba units. Hopefully, it will work for you as well.

Leave it on charge for half hour, it may not have enough in the battery and the adaptor may not be sufficient on it’s own.

Try This :- Take the battery out (and leave it out) - press and hold the ’start key’ for 10seconds - release - and hold down another 15seconds - when the LT starts put the battery back in.

I’ve had things similar to this happen with mine but I’m not an expert. Keep pushing the power button until it turns off and then give it a few moments and push it again as normal to see if it will start up. If it doesn’t another thing I was told to do, was to take out the battery, unplug it and push the power button for a few seconds and then put the battery back in, plug it back in and press to start up as normal. I dunno if any of that will work.

since no one pointed this out, there is a small possibility that your toshiba’s bios went corrupt . or…
1. the "power had come out"? if this meant it shut down, then mabye its not charged fully
2. could the connector between the screen and your graphics card be broken? that would not explain the sound though
if its your bios thats BAD execpt in some cases where you can reprogram it.
if its your power, you could probably just recharge it.
if its your display wire try to get it repaired
